i was thinking the other day, but language is such an interesting thing. :T it’s amazing how our minds can learn to identify the different sounds & such and associate meaning behind it. i mean, even though i’m not perfectly fluent in korean, i can still understand a big chunk of what someone is saying. which got me thinking, is it possible to UN-understand korean? in other words, when i hear someone speak another language, say japanese for example, i don’t understand and all i hear are different tones & sounds. i guess i’m just thinking, would i be able to hear korean as “just different tones & sounds”, or will i always associate meaning automatically?
hmmm, interesting.. :O
